The Los Angeles Galaxy and the San Jose Earthquakes both had good seasons this year, and a great competition between the both of them. But this week, in the MLS playoffs, the Galaxy's defense, led by defender Todd Dunivant, held off the San Jose Earthquakes for a 3-1 win to advance to the Western Conference finals. They now will go on to face either The Real Salt Lake or Seattle. Twice this season the Galaxy led the Earthquakes in the final 20 minutes of the game, giving up last minute goals once to let San Jose win, another to settle for a tie. This time, however, the Galaxy held on for the win, at the most vital time in the two-game series.
