The Los Angeles Galaxy has won their second consecutive MLS Cup title, defeating the Houston Dynamo by a total score of 3-1. Dynamo striker Calen Carr scored a goal in the 44th minute to boost the Dynamo to a 1-0 half time lead. But the Galaxy never surrendered. Defender Omar Gonzales scored on a header in the 61st minute to tie the score. Captain Landon Donovan then scored on a penalty kick for the game winner. Donovan also scored the game winner last year in Carson, and joined Jeff Agoos and Brian Mullen as the only players to win 5 MLS Cups in their careers. Robbie Keane also added a goal for his league-leading sixth of the playoffs. Landon Donovan was the game's MVP.
