Don't worry. This is as close to impossible as you can really get. But head coach Bill Belichik could really use former assistant Eric Mangini. Yes, the same Mangini that revealed the Patriot's videotaping other team's practices. Remember? Their "undefeated" season? Anyway, although Mangini's return is unlikely, he sure could do some adjusting to the Patriot's secondary. New England's pass defense was one of the worst to reach the Super Bowl last season. And if your a Seahawks fan, you'll remember the love of how your rookie QB Russel Wilson torched NE for 6 plays of 20 yards or longer, including the game-winning touchdown in Week 6.  So even at 4-3, atop the AFC East, New England can really use the boost. Last year was an exception. The Pats lost to high-quality teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers and eventual champion New York Giants in the first half of the year. So even though they put up some unattractive numbers last year, they fell to the likes of Ben Roethlisberger, Eli Manning, Tony Romo, and Philip Rivers. But this year the only dangerous QBs faced so far have been Peyton Manning and Joe Flacco. The only even considerably threatening one left is Matt Schaub. In other words, the Patriots secondary is putting up poor numbers, but against lesser teams this year. What happens if they have to go up against some serious competition? So that is why having Eric Mangini back could provide help to New England, before it's too late.

First round pick out of Baylor for the Washington Redskins, Robert Griffin III learned his lesson from the two-time Super Bowl MVP younger Manning. The 'skins were down 20-16 in the fourth quarter when they completed a 77 yard drive capped of by a 30 yard touchdown pass by RG3 to Santana Moss. RG3 threw 20 completions out of 28 attempts for 258 yards two touchdowns and one interception. Washington kept the drive alive on a fourth-and-10 when RG3 scrambled to get a first down. He ended up rushing for 83 yards on only nine carries. But with 1:13 left on the clock, it took Eli Manning one play to complete a game-winning pass to Victor Cruz. Manning has an impressive 22 fourth-quarter comeback history, this being his second of the season and 8th over the past two seasons. The New York Giants now move up to 5-2 atop the NFC East, while the Redskins drop to 3-4.

Some teams in the NFL have been doing great, others not so much. But it's not your usual good and bad teams. Allow me to explain. The Cleveland Browns are currently 0-4, even with 1st round picks Brandon Weeden and Trent Richardson. Andrew Luck has been somewhat disappointing with the Colts. The Packers are 2-2, but should be 3-1 (see below). The Arizona Cardinals currently stand 4-0 after disastrous 2010 season and a steady 2011. The Pittsburgh Steelers are 1-2, although I am still questioning whether they should have released some of their veteran players. I know some guys were past their prime, but if they can get the job done right... if it's not broke, don't fix it. The Saints, oh wow, are without a win and 4 losses to start the year. Some teams, however, are where they are expected. The Atlanta Falcons are 4-0 after a nice 10-6 last season and The San Diego Chargers, under Philip Rivers, are 3-1 atop the AFC West.

The NFL and Union Referees have finally come to an agreement leading to the firing of the NFL replacement refs. The replacement refs have made many game-changing-for-the-worst calls in only THREE weeks of being in the NFL. Most famously, Packers M.D. Jennings interception that was ruled a touchdown catch for Seattle Seahawks Golden Tate then won the game for Seattle. Or the obviously missed field goal by the Baltimore Ravens that was called good and cost the New England Patriots the game. After that Pats head coach Bill Belichick charged after one of the refs and was fined $50,000. So anyway, coaches, players, and especially fans, get ready for the REAL NFL season. It's time for some football.
